Is it the same yellowish one they had on launch day, or something completely different?

It was the glass background, but with television screens showing the yellow titles visible/ more visible. It also struck me they'd put a new design on the glass itself, but I could be wrong about that.

It looks like it was just for the first hour - the rest of the programme was back at the skyline:

That looks nasty, just stick with the beautiful view of the city.

But when it's dark before sunrise in Singapore, the black skyline background and glare against the windo looks awful. Maybe the new background is only used until the sun shines in Singapore.

Somethings wrong with the backdrop on NC at the moment, it's very blurred and squeezed in.

Sounds like one of the servers feeding the HD backdrop Barcos has broken again - so it's gone to the backup server showing an SD static version. It happened a couple of weeks ago and has happened before.

Not only do we have Gavin Grey on the News Channel, they're playing out a 15 minute Newsround special on kids made refugees by the Somalian drought.

Ooff - are they using Flip Video cameras for DTLs from Leeds now? Looks dreadful.

4:3 image stretched and cropped to 16:9, with dodgy lighting perhaps?

It looked like a grainy consumer camcorder with a single image sensor. And the lighting was non existent I think.

In fact you're right - somebody's nicked the bulb from that lamp on the desk!
