No point in me starting a new topic for this one but seeing as it was on the News Channel also here is as good a place as any to post it:
Did anyone see the Olympic 1 Year To Go programme that went out across BBC Television at 7pm? Am I the only one who thought it was quite a sloppy production at times?! Long gaps between items, talkback could be heard on my tv from the gallery and it seemed as though a few people really didn't know what they were meant to be doing. Also it seemed like Princess Anne was almost being ignored at times left to stand there like a statue for most of the show. Just think they tried to cram too much into a 30 minute programme (probably why it over ran). If it was an hour long I dare say things would have seemed a little more flowing rather than rushed & ill prepared.
Just my view anyway.

I completely agree. And a really lazy effort on the graphics as well. I'm really getting sick of seeing Gill Sans everywhere on the BBC now. The 'titles' for the programme were black with Gill Sans title and Olympic rings. 5 minute job?! The blue graphics which I presume they will use for the Olympics look good, but I think white and blue would have been a better combination for ease of reading. Purely on graphics, very lazy, and it wasn't in HD either. Let's hope this countdown means a year in improving graphics as well. These efforts in BBC graphics across the board, especially in news, are very amateurish and lazy.

I had this on the telly at the time and for a moment, wondered if there was some sort of very large bee trapped in the window.
Not sure which was more annoying - that noise, or the TOTH Olympic countdown having the music end too early.
No filter on the microphones for William Hague's speech?

Wasn't it just the fact that the music and the countdown were being played, but they didn't put the countdown in vision and had that computer graphic up through the Viz system instead. Nice touch though.
Yep I saw that, looked as if someone started the music a bit early!

Surely the timing and organisational issues were down to the event itself rather than the TV coverage of it?

Is it the same yellowish one they had on launch day, or something completely different?
New background behind Rico on Newsday tonight.
