They usually use that when they've got a guest on the right hand side of the desk.

They do, but I thought it might be worth a cap as it isn't something they normally do.

I may be a bit late on this... but have you seen the overnight service? Newsday I think they've called it. There's a ghastly yellow behind the London presenter. But it's Rico Hizon who is simply shocking. Don't get me wrong, I think he's great on business, a character. But reading the news in those glasses? And the programme just makes no sense. They don't go to Rico for Asian specific stories. London does a chunk and then there's a ghastly clunky hand-over for the next chunk of general news from Singapore. "And Rico, there's lots of dead people in Mexico". "That's riiiiight Baaaarbeeeetaaaar, lots of very dead people in Mexico. "
What are they thinking?
BBC News is red, not yellow.
What does Newsday mean?
Is Babita being dressed by Margret Thatcher's dress designer?
On a positive note, Babita's very good and clearly destined for greater things.
But what is wrong with a general news programme, anchored from London, using the full scope of the set, read by a good presenter? Am I getting too old fashioned?

How are the News channel splitting the BBC News at One and the Commons debate from the N6 Gallery?

I was always under the impression that the N6 gallery couldn't feed BBC One and the News channel independent feeds with independent graphics.

I don't know sadly, as I can't receive World.

I know the Graphics are coming from N6 as the Ticker has the judder (or hippy shakes) its been suffering from for the past week or so. Wink It's a give away you know.

AIUI N6 has two mixers, the main production mixer and separate one which is effectively the pres desk for the NC and the ticker is added here. It is this mixer which feeds the NC distribution, and BBC One pres takes its feed directly from the main mixer.

Therefore on occasions like today, another gallery (TC7, N8, N9, maybe even N10) takes the OB or feed, and is cut to on the N6 second mixer leaving the main gallery able to do the BBC One programme.

This is how N6 can rehearse the Ten while the NC is in N8.

Is it normal for the channel to show the previous hour's bulletin at midnight? They're showing the 23:00 hour again, complete with the wrong time on the DOG.

BBC journalists who are part of the NUJ, including Martine Croxall, have all gone on strike for 24 hours, meaning the NC is currently showing the bulletin from the last hour
