I'm sure there will be fun and games at the weekend
You've got Nicholas Owen, who is more likely to refer to it as the 'BBC News Channel' due to the last time he worked on a channel called 'News Channel' that was the way you should refer to it
and then you've got Peter Sissons, who is likely to call it News 24, try to correct himself and then fluff the entire link

Think it might be worth tuning in for tomorrow afternoon
sounds like it could be entertaining. "This is BBC News 2. . . er BBC News Chan. . . no. . . Your watching BBC News coming up. . . . we'll have er. . . er. . . something coming up still ahead on BBC News 24" DOH!

Possibly the nicest thing I've seen in this rebrand so far.
Sorry I don't like this as much as I do when they used the pod before the studio move. It looked far more cosy and intimate when it was based in News 24.

Like what they have done with Film 24. They've got a coffee table with a couple of chairs on the left side of the studio where they present the sport from. I thought they would just be sat at the normal desk.

I agree, it doesn't look bad, but they do look as if they're slightly stranded in the middle of the ocean there. Although the table helps a lot - E24 looked appalling when I saw it the other day, with presenter and guest seated miles away from each other on stools.

The BBC really can't manage to implement instant blanket-change at all. Whereas ITV, for example, do it rather well.
In September 1999, the Central News presenters were very on-the-ball at starting to refer to the channel as "Carlton" (if trailing something like Soccer Night etc, later that night) as soon as the channel's name-change happened.
Similarly, the verbal continuity became dual-branded (e.g. "You're watching HTV - ITV1 for Wales") as soon as the visually dual-branded idents were introduced.
It's clearly not something the BBC are good at.

Do you have a link from the last Newswatch from the BBC site?
You can watch the whole programme again on their website here.
I'm glad they touched on the subject of poor reception for News 2. . 4 . . sorry BBC News Channel on Sky Digital. I have noticed i'm getting signal glitching on BBC News & BBC Parliament. How dare that bloke sit there and say it's our fault and we should pay to get someone to put it right when it's they who have changed it for the worse. It worked how it was, why break it and then tell us to sort it
. Out of interest is anyone else having reception problems? We obviously need to start a campaign to get them to sort this, saying it's our problem is way out of order!

Isn't it interesting how BBC workers on Newswatch still refer to the service as News 24?

On another separate and bizarre note.
Does anyone know what Wireless Keyboard and Mice they use in the BBC News Channel studios on the desk?
Ref. News Watch - glad to see they showed Jane Hill's "News 24" continuity gaff that I mentioned on here virtually as soon as it happened.
I wonder if News Watch read these forums?
