Just the regular 90 second countdown going into the 10pm hour, with the 2010 countdown music
WO
As has already been said, no change to the coundown into the Ten.
That really does look bad, its clearly the wrong logo (I thought the era of knock-off BBC News logos had ended, clearly not), its also not 'in line' as it were on screen with the countdown clock. The datastream swooshes don't match the clips on screen and it's the wrong music.
What is strange is that since 2007 the countdowns hadn't been revised and in the space of a year they've been revamped twice. Also, the new music that was used last year, I would have presumed would be used again this year as its only been in use for literally 12 months now, obviously not.
Clearly inspired by BBC World News' current countdown set.
It's the final (2006) News 24 countdown, complete with 2007 re-edit style random swooshes.

And yep that logo is definitely *wrong*

I was very surprised to see they used a clip of Jeremy Bowen interviewing Colonal Gaddafi.
Slightly longer night version:

They use that clip of Jeremy Bowen quite regularly on the World News countdowns:

Don't get me wrong, I really liked the 2006-08 version of the News 24 countdown, I thought it was the best music that David Lowe ever came up with for the TOTH countdown, I just find it strange that they've all of a sudden reverted back to using it. I knew at some point this week they were going to modify the countdowns to remove the images of Matt Frei, I just wasn't expecting that they were going to completely revamp the music, so soon after the current theme music came in just over a year ago.
However I do like the short, sharp swooshes on the clip in Jonny's post. Just a shame they're not in line with what's on the video, although I do like the swoosh right at the end of the countdown

BBC News seem to like stepping back in time, you only have to look at the 2008 revamp!
So what music will be used on the filler then I wonder?
