Correct me if I'm wrong, but that video suggests she wasn't presenting "BBC News channel's early-morning bulletin" but rather a regional weather forecast during Breakfast?

Also, wouldn't this be best put in the weather topic?

Why don't the Scum comment on the likes of Carol Kirkwood then?

Being as the forecast was for London though means it will have appeared on the BBC News Channel. Differing interpretations.

Except that's the South East Today studio and therefore I presume was a South East weather forecast.

BBC London quite often use the SET forecaster now for cover.

Whoops - V/T failed on the recording of Ed Milliband's earlier speech - and cut back to a very surprised Alastair Yates, who then got Astoned as Andrew Landsley MP - Health Secretary, he didn't look too impressed!!! Confused I can't help but think if the V/T had played - Ed Milliband may have turned into Andrew Landsley!

Be very surprised if it was VT... BBC News haven't used VT for news item playout since around 2004ish (and News 24/News Channel hasn't used it since it launched in 1997)...

I think they are still referred to as VTs. It's not uncommon for terms from "old technology" still to be used for whatever replaces it (eg "filming", "footage" etc). Loads of people still talk about "taping" things on their hard drive recorders. It's certainly more desirable than "Skyplussing"! Smile

I would absolutely love to see a TOTH studio pan like this on the News channel when coming out the titles... it really does look good and make N6 look much bigger!

(26 seconds in on the video).

I would suggest that what can be achieved in N6 with the usual studio crew that would be in TC7 (I'm guessing that's what happened on the day the NUJ strike was on) isn't necessarily achievable on the minimal staffing the NC usually has.
