Was it right at 10pm to say Sports Day was coming up on the News Channel?
Sky News had already said an announcement was due shortly around 9.50pm.

BBC News Channel broken away from World for Weather

I thought that I'd get World in the UK one again, but sadly the minute Egypt isn't mentioned that screen pops up!

Why is the overnight bulletin in N9? Planned maintenance? That LCD (I'm assuming) looked very odd displaying the fake newsroom background, and when they switched to Egypt pictures the autocue was reflecting.

The overnight simulcast is on and what's happening? What studio is that? N8 - but James is sat next to a plasma screen! I'm scared!

It's N9 - BBC World's old studio. I suspect they're trying to hide the emptiness of the newsroom, but the lighting is pretty bad and lots of green seems to be reflecting on the monitor - is it an illusion or is there some sort of CSO set up on the other side of N9?

I was thinking that - it looked like some really bad keying. Also one of the cameras seems to be circulating some strange tints.

Its also BBC News 24's old studio (from 1997-1999) Wink http://image56.webshots.com/156/8/48/44/503284844ptoCOJ_ph.jpg

I don't know why they didn't put the simulcast in N6 (they usually do that overnight when maintenance is underway in N-eight) - unless its been an unexpected thing, or World is in there for the Weekend?

Does anyone know if the Gallery is still being operated from N8?
