Dateline London used to come from N8 anyway back in the days of News 24, I can't see why it can't stay there as surely N8 is better equipped for the disruption of the desk use with the pod available for the preceding and succeeding World news bulletins, again that is what News 24 used to do when it occupied N8.
News channel has to decamp to the headlines green screen I do believe for the bulletin prior to Dateline London.
Quick question, does Hardtalk have a specific recording time every week or does it depend on the availability of the interviewee, and does this availability have an impact on which studio is used? (for eg a satellite link up to interview someone is only available between 1730 and 1830, so do they try to get it or reschedule.)

Does the NC presenter use the CSO? I always thought they just moved to the wall where the sport/ business comes from?

Isn't there a green screen on the other wall of N6 though? Behind the normal camera positions. Hardly decamping.

Is there no way BBC News can promote a regional edition of 'Inside Out' as being on digital satelite, without mentioning SKY or Freesat?

Annoys me when they say, 'If you live in region x, you can see this at 730 tomorrow, or all over the country later on the IPlayer', when they can just as easily promote digital satelite.

Not all of us want to watch on IPlayer, when we can see it on 'proper telly', albeit a different region !
(Plus you can tape it for future viewing, while you can't with IPlayer!)

Yes, they could quite easily say "...on BBC One London and later on BBC iPlayer". They don't need to tell people how to get BBC One London on their particular setup. That is up to them to find out themselves. Of course, they could say...

"BBC One London is available on Sky, Freesat, digital satellite, BBC Online and for viewers in London on analogue terrestrial, Freeview, Virgin Media, BT Vision, TalkTalk TV and in the reception of BBC Television Centre."

They do - same close-up shot used when the sport presenter hands back to the desk, minus the sport animation of course.

There are a few ways you can watch iPlayer on the 'proper telly'.

What is this 'tape' you speak of? Wink

In which case moving to N8 for Dateline London would certainly complicate things.

In other words, I'd have to fork for another HDMI lead, to hook up between the telly & the computer!

Yeah they do that because they have to 'hide' the fact that thd presenter is standing up. God forbid they show any more of the presenter than the head!

Or perhaps they do a close-up because there are guests moving around the studio?! Not everything is about them trying to dissatisfy you Worzel...
