Forgive me if this has come up before, but why don't they use the (viewer's) right side of the studio for reports anymore? It always used to be the Sports reporters side and one of the main presenters would often stand there at the top of the hour, and occasionally interview features were also done there. I realise this has been the case for some time but it only just occurred to me.

Who is the woman doing the business headlines on the NC today? Boy is she annoying! Watching the News At Five and she kept bobbing up and down and smiling - looking at Huw and back - not too good, apparently she's called Sam.

Sorry, do you mean in N8 or N6?
Either, I think. Did they change to a smaller studio but keep the same set?

That would be Samantha Washington - perhaps getting the gig as a 'thank you' for breaking the picket lines a few weeks ago.

N8 is the studio BBC World are in now with the newsroom behind it. N6 is the box with video walls

I think BBC News is seriously due a refresh. Not a complete revamp, just a few tweaks here and there to the background, the aston style and maybe the ticker.

Anyone agree?
I'd rather they went back to the pre 2008 graphics, looked much better. Getting rid of Gill Sans, and back to the previous font.
