Does anyone have any idea how serious the BBC would take such a thing? Is it considered as bad as deliberately swearing on television?

Well, he was back for the BBC News at One so he wasn't sacked on the spot.

I like Tomasz, I find him really funny and watched the 'Frozen ball' video on YouTube last night weirdly. Now, swearing at work is never good (as I've been told a million times by a pest that I work with), but was he told they were going to cut to him, because he looked horrified when he noticed he was on air. The BBC will no doubt be having BIG WORDS with The Schaf, but it was funny. Did he apologise during the weather report?

Did he apologise during the weather report?

AP posted:
He ended his forecast saying: "Apologies for the giggling earlier on. I swear it's not my fault. Bye bye."

BBC Spokesman posted:
"Tomasz was not aware that he was on air, and whilst the gesture was only shown for a second, it was not acceptable. The News Channel presenter live in the studio acknowledged a mistake had been made, and we apologise for any offence caused."

Whilst I don't think he should be sacked, it was remarkably stupid of him to do that so close to when he thought he would be on-screen.

And David, your quote from Tomasz was from the 'frozen ball' incident.

Doh. I thought it sounded familiar.

That is just the PA story, the same PA story that I posted a couple of posts ago. Having an MSN logo on it, adds nothing.

Most BBC Weather presenters seem like weirdos, specially Daniel Corbett. This is what we pay the license fee for, for stupid presenters to pratt around in front of a map.

Don't. You. Dare diss Daniel Corbett! He's all kinds of awesome. He and Rob McElwe are seemingly the only two weather presenters on TV that not only tell us what the weather's going to do, but WHY it's going to do it.

No, our licence fee goes solely on Laura Tobin, the others come for free.

He's not a BBC employee of course, but I would have thought that they could insist on not having a forecaster on air if they wanted.

It's just one of those things, he shouldn't have done that in a studio, but then the gallery shouldn't have cut him to air just like that with no warning. It was at least 2 or 3 minutes (a whole report) before he was due on air
