Not a dramatic difference but this shot seems to be a nicer shot than the traditional shot they user where you can only see the Barco screens. The camera seems to be a bit higher than normal resulting in you being able to see the bottom of the rear wall

Never noticed it before but the camera is very low most of the time (seems just a bit higher than the desk so you can see the desk edge)

That first shot looks really good!

Is there any reason why George didn't do a on screen handover to the NC late night presenter, instead going to the weather, then the NC presenter came on after the weather?

Yes - cause Martine wasn't there!

Is it now possible for the News Channel to show a live event (with all graphics) while a BBC1 bulletin is broadcast from N6? I'm sure this happened the other day, when the News Channel went to one of Cameron's "PM Direct" events live, while the BBC News at One was on BBC1 from N6. At first I thought with Working Lunch now gone, the One was coming from TC7, but it was definitely N6.

They probably used the N9 gallery.

Good point you raised there - with Working Lunch now gone - will they used TC7 for the BBC News at One? It would make sense as they'd have time to prepare. Smile

No - because with Working Lunch gone - the money that pays for the studio crew has gone.
It's never that easy... The WL decision has had an impact on the studio crew roles - and that, unfortunately, means redundancies, which is never nice.

I suppose it just means theoretically TC7 is there if needed. I seem to recall it was used during the One (either for the One or the News Channel) when the 2008 Olympic Ceremony was taking place.

When former FA supremo David Davies appears to review the papers, has daughter Amanda ever been on the same shift doing the sports news?

ISTR a mention of Chris Lowe being on shift at the same time as daughter Rebecca being made somewhere on line!

(Isn't it an unofficial no no at the Beeb for family members to work out of the same place or something? Married couple Kay Alexander & Brian Conway didn't work together at Pebble Mill ISTR, with Kay presenting MT in Birmingham, but Brian presenting EMT in Nottingham, but the old BBC Midlands Radio Late Show married couple presenters Tony Wadsworth & Julie Mayer presented together for several years on various shows, so what's the official score then?)

Same one, he used to be on BBC North West during the late 1970's/early 1980s too, not to be confused with David Davis the Conservative MP might I add.
