I've been trying to fathom out why that new end sting on the countdown looks so familiar and I've just realised.

It bears a striking resemblence to what LN wanted it as the closing title / end sting for bulletins back in 2007/8

I think, in a way, that would be a much nicer end to the titles anyway. The logo animation is really nice Smile

Now, that is a screen from a document I would like to see. I assume it is not a public document?

Looks like a knock off BBC News logo was used on there. Wink

The image is from a document containing work in development for the 2008 rebrand, so I assume that was one of the proposed 'boxes', hence why it appears every now and again!

David Lowe has updated his site - FINALLY!

Sport started a bit messy in N8, the presenter's microphone wasn't working for around 30 seconds, and the Barco screen behind him went half-blank, looking like an image should have appeared on the screen but didn't.

And now the long awaited 'Election 2010' closing theme!

It certainly has grown on me over the last few days! Does anyone have any copies of it??

Can I please echo this request. An excellent piece of dramatic music, IMO.

I know it's been a while, but I would also LOVE to get hold of a clean version of this music. Can anyone help? Very Happy

Not sure if this is the right thread to put it on, but I wonder if BBC News will be releasing it's iPhone app soon?

They seem to have released an iPad app for the US! - http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bbc-news/id364147881?mt=8

...I know they stopped the News/Sports iPhone app from being released in the UK, but the US have the app now! So maybe they will release one after all?

This was covered quite a while ago.

The app has been released in the US iTunes store via BBC Worldwide, which is a commercial operation, and causes no competition issues.

In the UK the app has been put on hold to allow the BBC Trust et al to investigate whether it would distort the commercial market in similar apps...

Two different bits of the BBC, working in two different regions, with two different sets of regulatory frameworks, and two different funding models, meaning two different outcomes.

Ahh I see. Thanks for that!
