Looks like Hard Talk is coming from a different studio than normal - i.e. not TC7

Have to say... it looks better. The full TC7 is far too cavernous for a program which is based around one-on-one interviews without a studio audience, and the coffee table also suits better than the Newsnight/Six desk.

The only change needed is that the big HARDtalk logo doesn't look quite straight on the left side

Still using the old Aston Graphics with the HardTalk logo that is not in correct allignment with the New DOG.

Actually, it's a hybrid - a solid & transparent black namestrap with the HARDtalk bug, but with Gill Sans as the font and flat rather than glassy.

HARDtalk has looked like that since the 2007 graphics were first introduced.

It would appear that the rebrand is still taking some getting used to - the NC left WNA just before 1am BST with the old "interlocking globe" graphics carrying it to the weather. Oops.

I think they should have kept the headline beds from last year TOTH/headlines/coming up.They were much better than this boring one we have now-I dont know why they botherd changing it as the old ones wouldnt exactley look out of place now as the titles are the same basic music-they should bring them back.

David Lowe's brief was to take the music back to basics. I'm quite pleased with it, to be honest. I always felt the 2007 music was very OTT, particularly on News 24. The National music was OK.

So how many references to News 24 have there been on the BBC News C-h-a-n-n-e-l since yesterday? I think it's funny - sort of undermines the suits' decision!

I'll disagree with you for once itsrobert, I think the old music added to the pace of the 24 hr channel, now its very boring, its almost a return to the bad old days of 1999

What bad old days 1999-2003 was the best era of bbc news.I think the 1999 N24 title music would sound better in the current titles than the 2007 tune.

So does the backdrop get darker during the evening? It does look darker for the Ten, but does it change before that. I can say I've noticed if it does.

Perhaps someone with capture facilities could do some comparisons?

I've not seen the use of a picture behind the presenters before, it looks good. They might as well make use of the video wall since it's there. Certainly makes it look more interesting than just the drab fake newsroom.

They're probably trying to work out how to adjust the lighting.

Whoops, seems the autocue has gone down. Poor Gavin left shuffling the scripts for a while.

Gavin's doing well though! He should be used to this though having worked on News 24 in the early days!

"Judging by the groans from the gallery we haven't got that report either!"

Class.
