Just intriguing me. From Simon Jack's Twitter:

Which studio is this, and where has the desk gone?!

I'd say it's always there, Simon's probably sat in TC7 for hours, way too far to peg it back and forth the Business Unit in between his segments. He even has his own printer bless.

I think there must be a health and safety issue here. Shouldn't he regularly asses his working environment to determine whether sitting in that position for several hours at a time is bad for his back.

I'm surprised he doesn't use the desk as it has a computer in it and I think there is also a printer behind...maybe this was taken when they were changing over the newsdesk??

Where's Emily standing with that plasma? Is that N9? The lighting is horrific, she looks like a lump of old meat. Having said that the keying on Jeremy isn't too great either, a lot of fuzzyness on the edges of his hair.

On the News Channel - a pre-recorded piece about marginal constituencies and swing. Emily was in N9.

I would have suggested that the printer he is using is the one from the desk. Also if the image was taken on Monday then perhaps the desk isn't returned until as the desk would have last been probably used for Newsnight Friday.

The lighting down that end of N9 is awful, there's always glare on the plasma and the keyed in wall looks awful. Shame that they couldn't have refurbed it a little better to be used for all election coverage.

The wall behind the massive plasma screen in N9 isn't keyed, it's a light box construction. Similar to that now in most regional news studios.

Oh, I know that. But I thought they digitally extended that lightbox wall towards the other desk? That middle bit is the section that always looks awful.
