The re-dressed studio at Millbank looks quite different:

Current graphics during the Campaign Show are much better, white strap with pulsating colour rings, the Live location bug is also been changed to white.

This is what they should be using throughout the day.

although I'm not really liking the music at the start! Jon is already getting 'the politics show' and 'campaign show' mixed up!! Will be interesting to see if he presents 5 days a week and politics show or not...

Not just me then that wasn't a fan of that music... didn't seem to fit in with the opening sequence or BBC News look and feel

Why haven't the BBC NC been using these graphics all day?

Even BBC Look East had special astons, and a differently coloured Live DOG.

Those astons and the font are terrible. Always the same when something comes from Millbank. It looks like the ticker comes from TVC and the rest comes from Millbank.

I imagine some of the big names will be doing 5 or 6 day weeks between now and 6th may, an election is like the world cup of politics and I would expect longer news bulletins with the top anchors presenting. For example I bet on the next bank holiday may 3rd the news on BBC1 will be at 1pm, 6pm and 10pm, all half an hour long with the usual presenters and usual local news following.

Don't watch the NC much but quite enjoying the Campaign Show, Jon Sopel is superb. Only thing is why is the picture so washed out in Westminster? Surely they could sort it out.

Jon Sopel seems absolutely hyper tonight! - it's pretty amusing!

That'll be because it is...

It's a long-running problem, I'm afraid. Part of the broadcast chain in 4 Millbank is still PAL, and as a result everything looks a bit analoguey. You tend to get the same PAL footprint on everything transmitted live from that studio, as well as Question Time, which gets a compliance edit in Millbank before transmission.

I don't know what just happened in the middle of BBC World News America - the picture went black, with audio still playing... then what could be described as Digital Distortion, nasty!

Except for last week's though - which I thought looked strangely nice for Question Time.

One thing they NEED to get sorted is the wobbly first shot of Dimblebot when he's introducing the contact methods - it's like someone's deliberately jumping up and down on a gantry now...

I sometimes think that the word 'effort' and 'BBC News' sometimes don't go hand in hand. Wink

Is there any reason why it hasn't been upgraded/updated? If the desk is (still) in the newsroom there - they could use that?
