That was within the first 5 minutes of me watching N24 live (sorry, I'm going to keep calling it that for a while) as I didn't manage to catch much live yesterday.

Don't really know where to start. The astons are truly horrible and boring, the solid blocks of colours at the bottom doesn't look good.

The studio is as lifeless as I anticipated - the backdrop is dark and (in fairness) pretty static, no background noise and any wide shots just show a vast empty boxy studio. The frosted swirls view looks like it belongs in a shower too.

I want to like the titles, I really do but they just feel too Flash based - like they've not finished rendering them. When you think of some of the CGI stuff LN have created over the years, this just seems a bit lacklustre. A case of 'let's have lots of cutting shots to make it look whizzy' instead of something decent.

A shame the countdown hasn't had much done to it - the hour and music should end at "0". Holding on the title animation is just cheating!

Distinctly underwhelmed overall, a real disappointment.

Maybe some of us could chip in a few quid and get the BBC Arabic graphics team in?
