The News Channel looks much better in TC7 as it does not have the desk taking up the majority of the studio, they should move into TC7 permanently and then make use of stand up presentation as well. Then move BBC One bulletins in a redesigned N9 and the other TC7 programmes into N6.

Must we have this debate every time the NC decamps temporarily to TC7/ N8/N9? Shocked

They are a rolling news channel, they don't physically need any more studio space than is required to spin the proverbial cat! They have N6, they will not get anything else on a permanent basis for the forseeable future by all accounts.

Err why have the NC repeated a pre Christmas edition of E24 just?

Wonderful use of the studio at the 7pm TOTH. They showed the live pictures from the Connecticut blast along the entire left hand wall and panned down slowly showing both presenters. It made it look really spacious, and the fake background almost looked real.

I wish they would do things like this more often.

This explosion although bad, shows how one word can provoke newsroom hysteria, seems that a Police Spokesman used the words 'Mass Casualties' which ratcheted up the news media globally and the story got exaggerated as a result. Twitter of course went ballistic RTing the Mass word too.

I'm not saying that it's not serious, but the back tracking has already started from the News media stateside.

Ha, just goes to show how popular E24 is! I've never understood it's position on the News Channel in the week.

And in any case, I was under the impression TC7 isn't owned by BBC News and they have to rent it off something. I might have just made this up but if true, hiring it 20 hours a day at least.

IIRC It's owned by BBC Resources / Studios or whatever they're called this week but on permanent hire to News.

Quick question about TC7:
Is the desk big enough for two presenters & 2 or more guests at either side?
