She just acting as cover for now or are they testing the water for future schedules? I remember reading this article in December but its not very clear their intentions.

Nonsense! She's been recruited to feature on the News Channel as a permanent feature. WOAH - can't wait for next week.
Where has this news come from? Can anyone clarify she starts next week?
Next monday - 1400 - 1700 - on the BBC News Channel should be fun - Julia Sommerville and Nick Owen presenting... ITV News Channel anyone?

The News Channel looks much better in TC7 as it does not have the desk taking up the majority of the studio, they should move into TC7 permanently and then make use of stand up presentation as well. Then move BBC One bulletins in a redesigned N9 and the other TC7 programmes into N6.

As previously mentioned, this would be impossible. BBC World wouldn't have anywhere to go without opening up the old studio and programmes like Newsnight and The Andrew Marr show just would not work in N6. In the grand scheme of things, the NC isn't that important, it doesn't need a huge and flexible studio, whereas TC7's programmes are quite high profile. Without the flexibility of the larger studio, it would look dull and plain silly.
