They're having fun with the shots in N9 this morning - there's been a few nice pans around the edge of the desk, and I just spotted a shot peering over a pile of (wrapped) Christmas presents. And a nice big tree behind the presenters.

N6's gallery appears to be out of use (the studio output is a still of some generic News graphics), so it seems the network is coming from N9. No ticker so far - is that normal for weekend Breakfast?

Glad you liked it! Thought we'd try our best to make it as funky as possible despite it being less versatile than Breakfast's usual home!

Is there any chance of a distant/wide shot going from the titles at the TOTH just before the first story is read? Much like they used to do with World? I know we can't have a Jib shot (as there isn't one in N9).

That was because there was a Simulcast with BBC One at 11:55 and Click finished early.

Overall it's good to see the news channel in a proper newsroom again (although only for a week) but that studio is far too small. I'd of put World in there and given the News channel N8! But that would have been a pain I know.

Makes me wonder if TC7 had been available, would the News channel have been moved into there?

Also, I notice they are putting a section of the Night Newsroom backdrop on the Plasma when theres no story on there. Nice touch.

Can anyone 'In the know' tell us if any other work is being carried out in N6?

Also, the stings from the weather and the breaks don't seem to have 'Britain's most watched news channel' on them anymore.

Have to say I like the simpkicity of the N9 setup for the News Channel at the moment. Haven't yet seen how the BBC1 News looks but I really think they should look at having two sets in the same studio for BBC1/BBC News. It would save a lot of problems on changeover between BBC1 and BBC News channel.

I do agree, but N9 is far too small. It does look awfully cramped.

Why can't BBC NC show "news" instead of the completely meritless "Five Minutes"? The toff doing it seems completely out of his depth...and just revealed he's related to Johann Strauss.

I've noticed poor sound quality on some of the output today. Fuzziness on the TOTH title sequence earlier in the day on the News Channel and just now on the titles for the BBC One news programme at 11.15pm. On both occasions, I was watching on DSAT, but at two separate locations.

Must admit I have noticed sound problems too particularly with the titles.

That only works if they have enough cameras that can be moved quickly - it was a bit strange having Nick Owen do the introduction to the weather having thrown to the regions (and left the requisite awkward pause for them to opt out) rather than going back to Sue Thearle.

I'm glad it's the news channel having the problems. I'd moved some of my stuff around recently and thought I had a dodgy cable! Smile

Interestingly Alistair Yates did 12.00-01.00 in N9 and has now moved to N8 from 01.00

Nothing particularly interesting about that - the same thing would normally happen were they still in N6.

Have to admit I haven't seen the news channel at this time of day for a while, I hadn't realised that Alistair moved studio routinely.
