Does anyone know when the BBC News channel will be moving out to TC7 for the BARCO replacement?

Surely there is only one obvious time of year to do this if they do - when the regular shows from the large studio are off-air for a period, allowing the News Channel to move in?

Thank you for a constructive answer.

Does anybody know why coverage of the Iraq Inquiry is being shown on a 1 minute delay?

Surely there isn't much danger of any of the esteemed witnesses suddenly blurting out a string of four-letter words without warning? Shocked

If an issue being discussed possibly infringes National Security then the coverage can be pulled for assessment of the issue, in the event of the evidence being cleared later it will be made available.

At the moment TC7 will shut after Christmas eve to have its floor painted.
N6 will also shut to have its Barco Projectors replaced, which means that the Channel will move to N9 for the Christmas period, along with Breakfast and BBC Bullies.
The plan is to have the channel from the old N9 Newsroom set and the BBC1 Bullies from the new smaller set opposite.

I thought that this part of the inquiry was being held in public, so surely if they were about to discuss something which may be sensitive (from a national security point of view) then the general public would be cleared from the room and there would be plenty of notice?

It's a bit pointless censoring the live broadcast if Joe Public and members of the press are in the room to hear it.

Funny you should say that. There was swearing yesterday during the inquiry and it was left uncensored.

And this was what it looked like when BBC London decamped there before their move to Broadcasting House.

The studio looks better like this than on election programmes (as above).

There is some clever masking on the left and right edge of the picture to cover up the area where the cameras are. The wall on the smaller set is also 'extended'.
