Do wish they'd consider something like these graphics on the News Channel...

The sheen on the Breaking News, the way it animates between Breaking News and the topic, the way the ticker actually 'prints' the letters - a lot more work has been done on these than the plain graphics on the News Channel.

I presonally think they were very poorly designed and looked very cheap. That gradient effect looks awful. At least the graphics we have now look clean and straight forward.

The "printing" letters is probably more a side-effect of poor design than an actual feature.

At least the Ticker wouldn't get the 'Hippy shakes' like it is now.

Where can I get one of these hippy shakes you keep referring to, Worzel? I was at three McDonalds yesterday and seven Burger King outlets and they all denied knowledge of a hippy shake, preferring the regular flavors of Strawberry, Vanilla, Chocolate and Banana.

It was suggested that I may inquire at London Zoo. But I corrected them, noting the y in hippy as opposed to the o in hippo.

Will World and News 24 (Channel) be simulcasting today's Edward Kennedy coverage? Anyone know?

Although for a short time, many years ago, they did sell the rather distrubingly named 'Happy Juice' .

I presume that the decision to move BBC News Channel to World to cover Sen. Ted Kennedy's Funeral Mass will be repeated later tonight for the internment at Arlington National Cemetery. Thus leaving the News Channel's studio free to do the both evening BBC ONE bulletins.

Interestingly it seems that they've just removed the BBC News DOG and ticker and are currently using World's for some reason.

That will be because they started the BBC News on BBC One with them on screen in error - it appears it wasn't noticed that the feed for the BBC One broadcast wasn't clean from the outset. It did look a bit poor and I don't believe this is the first time they haven't noticed / corrected prior to broadcast.
