Well there's only normally one presenter on Sundays until around 5ish I think it is. Maybe it's something to do with that.
What just happened there on the 10pm TOTH on the news channel? They opted from the titles into the wide shot then went to the front shot showing the two presenters and the camera erratically zooms into the male presenter to the shock of both Anita and him!

At 1pm Jane Hill is now broadcasting from what looks like TC7 on the NC whilst Emily is doing the 1 from N6. Is there not usually something in TC7 which is why the 1 is in N6? I think the desk is also on the opposite side in TC7 (where the breakfast sofa is) but I'm not 100% sure. Anyway TC7 all looked a bit last minute

Considering there has been some advanced warning of the press conference, couldn't it have been planned to have the 1 in TC7 and the News Channel kept in N6 today?
Also goes to show the problem with having a network bulletin usually from the same studio as a rolling news channel. Good job TC7 is available

It's not like they're using the presenter much, if Working Lunch had been on, the NC could have easily come from a Green Screen...

Couldn't agree more! The One should have gone to the TC7 and NC continued as normal.

The handover to the NC seems to get messier every day..
Why can they not just pass straight to a slightly extended weather update on the NC as BBC1 go's to Regions?

I'm amazed that they didn't do that, given how the N6 gallery is effectively the News Channel's pres area, it's much easier to route TC7 into BBC1 than route TC7 onto the NC and N6 onto BBC1.

NC has this afternoon been rolling with BBC Scotland's "Politics Scotland" programming for special coverage on the Holyrood debate on the release of the Lockerbie bomber.
Standard NC on-screen furniture (breaking news supers, DOG, ticker etc) feature, although they're clearing away the NC supers to reveal "PS"-branded astons for various name-checks on the Scottish feed that they're taking.
How long have they been rolling with this? I've been watching for almost an hour now, and they rolled right through the 1500 TOTH.
The presenter - whose name I don't know, unfortunately - just wrapped the programme up at 1553, before then apologising as there were three further guests standing by for a live two-way from Holyrood, with their images projected onto the video wall. Oops.
Despite this little cock-up, I'm pleased to see NC making use of BBC regional resources; roll-back a couple of years, and one could easily imagine the Beeb not only having a Scottish programme, but insisting on producing a separate BBC News 24 programme that served no purpose other than to duplicate what was already being broadcast locally.
It would be nice to see more of this - the Beeb has extensive resources across the Nations and Regions, but too often its nationwide programming ignores the local resources available in favour of needless duplication, as though it would be in some way sacreligious to broadcast a local programme or correspondent on its 'flagship' services.

They may have been with the show from 1430 on NC, but I was watching on BBC TWO Scotland. If you were able to hear Brian Taylor's commentary between the parliamentary questions in the chamber then it would've been the same programme, and yes, would've given the NC presenters an hour and a half off!
