It used to work quite well in N6: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9JEP5ET3gg

Just to be picky, it's N8. I don't think it did work that well - the graphics were almost illegible.

Slip of the tongue - sorry! Yes, the graphics were not the clearest. But, bar that, the whole thing did look a little cleaner than the N6 version the other day IMO.

I notice the ticker has started to get the 'Hippy Shakes' again on the news channel, a purge of the temp files is needed me thinks.

It's nice to see the Barco's behind the presenters have been adjusted so the cracks in the screens don't seem to be so large. Smile

Do you have to tell us everytime you think this?

Worzel, you should watch Sky Sports News instead. I've heard that sometimes, the graphics freeze up for up to a whole second! Why not create a Worzel's Small Graphical Glitches thread? Or Worzel's Projection Cube Coherence, Alignment and Uniformity thread? Then we could have a 24-hour UTC-coordinated round-up of every jitter, jump and freeze of various graphics, along with graphs, charts and time-lapse videos showing the changes between the background cubes and panels from a wide gamut of channels hand-selected by yourself, throughout the day.

It could work.

It would also mean there would always have to be an operator for the graphics around, rather than at the main bulletins.

Is there not a facility for a clicker in N6 to control the weather playout as there appears to be in TC7?

When they do the weather in a news studio is it still the output of one of the weather studios which appears on the Barco or is there a local weather system in the news areas? ISTR a Breakfast weather bulletin going pear shaped when another forecaster tried to use the unoccupied weather studio while it was in vision on Breakfast News with Michael Fish (?) in front of its output on a screen in TC7.

I hadn't noticed the clicker before - is that a recent(ish) addition?

Its been there from the start of weather in N6.
TC7 and N6 have their own weather PC - linked to the Weather Centre's PC Network and run the software (called Storm).
The weather presenters load it when they arrive in the studio and hold a remote clicker to start the sequence (Its like a car alarm remote).
In N6 it's behind the Barco's where the Sport is done from - in TC7 it's in the scenery store.
The Graphics area run a back up sequence just incase the Storm PC's fail.

Then that means it's a good thing I've just been for an eye test.

just noticed on the end of the 10 o clock, how long has the lighting grid above the lightboxes been highlighted in red?

Is that the strap around the Barco's or the light boxes on the roof?

If it's the latter I don't remember them ever being red. If it's the strip around the top of the Barco's it's been like it since the revamp last year.

the light boxes on the roof, the grid above them (which is usually black) had a nice red tinge to it.

The pelmet header and lightboxes have always been lit red for the ONE and TEN since the relaunch from N6.
