Over the Christmas period you have no Newsnight, Working Lunch etc that need to use TC7

Ah, very good point.

News Channel into N9 I would have thought - TC7 needs higher numbers of staff, and they would probably try to do things on a shoestring over Christmas.

N9 would be the most sensible option for the News Channel if it has to move out for Barco replacement etc but in reality I would think it would end up in TC7. Lets not forget the News Channel gets a bit more grace than it used to with in the BBC and seeing as most of the BBC One news programmes are from the same output areas as the News Channel these days I'd say TC7 is a safe bet.

I think if it were just the news channel, and the BBC 1 bulletins still came from a separate studio anyway, I could see it moving to N9, but I can't see them moving all of their BBC 1 bulletins (and therefore NC) to a small, empty studio like that.

Can I just say a big well done to the News channel for not keeping up a huge Breaking News Aston of Andy Murray being knocked out of Wimbledon. Sky News have opted for a Huge Aston saying 'Murray out of Wimbledon' - hardly fair on Andy TBH.

Well done BBC for being so gracious and dignified. Smile

Ignoring the argument about reporting sports stories as news for a minute, what is unfair, ungracious and/or undignified about 'Murray out of Wimbledon' as a headline on a breaking news strap?

Watching the report about Andy Murray's defeat, it sounds like they amplified the audience cheers. Rolling Eyes

Interesting shot there - just seen a full 360 degree view of N6 nearly - by accident.

Unusually the BBC News Channel are way ahead of Sky on this South London fire - they have a photo and a BBC London reporter (on the phone) at the scene while Sky still just have a satellite photo of London.

Normall Sky would be way ahead
