If they use that 10pm Backdrop for the News Channel in the evening it will be nice... we'll have to wait and see!

Indeed its a nice 'sombre' background. Heres a video anyway:

Chris Eakin about to say "watching BBC News 24" but just at the last second said "you're watching BBC News - of course!"

I still think the set with the colours etc looks very ITN News Channel though, or it me?

Hhhm, the clock's missing (online feed)... certainly looks odd. At least the ticker is there though.... no, wait, I take that back, the video quality is so low it's almost unreadable anyway.

Blimey after flicking on the BBC News many times more than usual throughout the day I'm getting slightly sick of the same news stories. Razz

Will N9 get a makeover so it's not so dramatically out of step with whatever N8 gets redesigned as, so it doesn't stick out like a sort thumb on those occasions when it has to deputise for N8 or N6?

I have to say the clock on the Ticker being fully black, rather than just a blob is much better!

I'll probably catch the paper review tonight, when I've watched it before it's looked a cozy affair now with the new background it's looks a serious news station.

I currently like the revamp but I do wish they had kept BBC NEWS 24 though and in its home the newsroom N8.I dont really like the 15/45/30 past the hour headline bed it is to slow and dull I much prefer the 2007 version the same with the biz bed.

Well after all I've seen today I certainly have mixed views on it all.

The music is a bit hit and miss, the headline bed sounds flat now compared to before. I don't understand why they've had to revert to those old 'thunderclaps' yet again, what was wrong with the ones used before?! Rolling Eyes

Plus the ticker and the straps are so dull and boring and I think that's mainly due to the fact of the choice of colours picked and Gill Sans being resurrected, don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with the font, it's just the context in which it's used in and it's obviously not suited for that.

I had an epileptic fit earlier today watching the new BBC News titles - I am not at all impressed! Evil or Very Mad

Will the paper review be mentioning the Daily Mail's view on the new look ?

Did the Wail copy and paste that story direct from Times Online?
