With George Alagiah in the studio in London. Matt Frei is currently in Islamabad covering the fight against the Taleban.
A reaction to ITV News, perhaps? I'd rather they just focused on domestic news to be honest. All this reporting on the hardships facing our servicemen overseas is very admirable, but, in my humble opinion, is irrelevant for a news programme. Unless there has been a major development, I think such investigative reports should be kept for Panorama or Tonight.

Tuned into BBC World News America on the news channel at about 00.35 last night (this morning) when there was an opt-out to Martine Croxall in London. I didn't think BBC World News America had such opt-outs?
Jon Kay is co-presenting the news channel this morning
Why are you rolling your eyes? Okay, you don't like him, but doesn't mean that others don't find him competent!
Not competent enough to be a news reader though!
All the other BBC news readers are brilliant (but no one's going to sit here posting about how
wonderful
news readers are all the time, are they?) I just don't think he is, that's all.
Chie, I know you're a new member so you've probably not had a chance to see it yet, but there's this thread: http://www.tvforum.co.uk/forums/topic27696, where you can post your drivel about presenters.
I wish the BBC News camera operator in Los Angeles would properly frame Rajish Merchandani (sorry for the spelling). Where they've upscaled the picture his head is nearly always cut off the top of the screen.
Just watching Breakfast on the NC now and notice that the slide on the screen during the paper review with Charlie and Susannah that shows all the newpaper logos is actually displaying all the sunday papers....oops, somebody's wishing their weekend away!

Until fairly recently one of the news channels (I think it was the BBC) had a montage of newspaper logos as a backdrop - newspaper logos apparently cut out about 1987!
