Knockabout entertainment between the kittenish Jon Sopel and Emily Maitlis today on several occasions, even Babita Sharma got dragged in again (no physical violence this time though).

Should be an interesting BBC News at 5 O'Clock today, Peter Sissons bless his heart is presenting it! Smile

I must say he's doing pretty well. Dealt with some breaking news just then perfectly. Maybe weekends aren't his forte?!

Classic clips from the very man of news himself.

Peter Sissons is good on a structured (non rolling) news bulletin. Put him back on the Six, where he belongs! He is a legend, in fact.

Does this also mean that he will be presenting tonights Ten O'clock News?

With any luck. That's where he belongs - I don't quite know why they ever rid him from the bulletin in the first place.

There is very rarely any link between who presents the Five and the Ten, with the exception of Huw.

Tricky little moment there when the NC had to quickly break away from E24 (which had just started) to cover a W.H.O. press conference, at which point World opted back in. Then, following the press conference at about 2153, a noticeable pause when World opted back out.

On Sunday when the BBC News Channel kept showing the report about the farmer's bull runniung rampage in an Irish supermarket - brilliant funny story which they showed in every hour all day - when it was Peter Sissons shift the report ended, cut back to him and he just looked at the camera and said - deadpan - "and I thought we were in a bear market. let's have the weather." He is brilliant.

He is a good news presenter. Please don't have a go at someone because they are better at doing structured bulletins rather than rolling news.

(I dont mean you, Renll, I mean others)

Sissons did his time as a reporter in the field, remember!

Just a thought.

Sissons is a legend. They should put him on in a more promenant slot, like Weekday evenings and move Ben & Joanna out of the way, or Weekday afternoons, and get rid of Sopel who is a complete idiot when he has a co presenter. (Paxman wannabe)

Although I doubt very much that the beeb will do anything with Sissons, I think they are just waiting for him to retire.

Does anyone know (This may have already been discussed) who they are lining up to replace Chris Lowe on the Weekend lates with Annita or are they leaving the slot to the Willcoxs' of this world with a view to a major reshuffle (Give Kate Silverton some more air time Very Happy - although she is a frightfully bad presenter)
