No. We're stuck with it.

No we are not as N9 will not be operational for much longer! (yes i know mothballed or what ever) I assume we will move to N8 for this slot when BBC World News moves.

The ticker... is it just me, or has it only appeared on the online streaming during the 30 minutes when they were in World News' studio? The channel DOG has been there, but no sign of the ticker each time I've checked it today.
No loss though, seeing as they forgot to actually put any designing in to the lower third... it's a pity, great new titles, but then no effort seems to have been put in to the lower third at all.

I think you lot are getting your Ns mixed up.

N8 is where News 24 have just moved from - they are in N6 now. They are going to stay there.

World are going to move from N9 (where they are now) to N8 (presumably when they've given it a makeover).

The World 'etching' looked very good on that shot behind Huw. Seems to work very well with the night time newsroom feel. It defiantly makes the screens look far better, though I imagine they have also spent time improving them.

Really, theres still a crack between the screens when you see the Presenters Duo shot and some of the screens contrasts are still drastically different. How come the ones in TC7 are setup properly but the ones in N6 aren't?

Yea, for a 3 x 30 minutes national news bulletins, this studio is pretty good - they're making good use of the left hand side wall and a variety of desk shots. However, for a rolling news channel, this simply doesn't work....the dropping of the '24' was bad enough, but just from watching a few hours this evening, it got incredibly dull - once I've seen the same shots of presenters over and over again and how it's all working (there was a certain level of intrigue when this look launched at 8:30 this morning) and the awful DOG, clock and ticker, BBC News (24) will be a bit of a turn off IMO. I will no doubt still stick with it and hope for some changes.

A rolling news channel in the "shoebox" just doesn't work - I can't understand how the BBC ever thought it would!! It was a relief at 9:30 this evening when Matthew was in the BBC World studio.

The "BBC News Channel" (today at least) has just been quite hard to watch.

Nice titles though! Laughing

And what makes you think that won't happen. BBC World now has a reasonable budget - and the gallery and newsroom/set may well have major revamps before BBC World move in.

I think the etching on the background certainly helps: the etching allows it to be a bit more abstract, you're not caring that it's unrealistic for that view to be seen through a 'window' in the set.

If they use that 10pm Backdrop for the News Channel in the evening it will be nice... we'll have to wait and see!
