Whatever about the "spartan" issues of N6 vs. N8 (as Cameron put it) I'd rather that nicely designed newsroom background with lifts going up and down and virtual shadow men creeping back and forth then some odd squares foobling about on a blue background all day.
Think he means the current ITV News backdrop.

It just looks as if nothing is really going whereas even the ITV News and Sky have some activity in their backdrops.

Disappointed with the astons, the previous ones were much much better, had nice textures and animated onto the screen nicely, the new ones are a step back in time to 1999, all they've done is change the colour to white!
The countdown is ok, the titles are ok and its nice to see News 24, sorry News channel use thunderclaps.
The studio feels cold and distant for a 24 hour channel, but perfect for bulletins. It dosen't feel like a 24 hour operation at all now, its a set that would suit BBC World News then BBC News, maybe the two should do a swap!

The straps are so plain and boring. Id usually say simple always works, but in this case from the previous eras its a serious step back in time. However, the titles are the best we have had since 1999, although its a shame not to see more variations on the design for sub branded programmes eg - WNT.
Regarding the thunderclaps, its good to hear them being used on the channel, however the director seemed to go a bit 'thunderclap happy' at the 9pm TOTH using them for every break in speech, and then not cueing them when a different story was featured. I'm sure they'll get it right once they're used to the new format.

Yep. From 9.30 each weeknight when N6 is needed for the ten they vacate allowing the team in N6 to prep for 'BBC News at 10'.
maybe at this time BBC News should do a World News roundup

Can they not use TC7, rather than moving to a studio that looks completely different leading to an inconsistant look
This brings back memories of when the ITV News Channel used to present bits from the London Tonight studio

Isn't this only temporary while N8 (the old News 24 set) is being rebuilt.
