The use of Gill Sans, while it does bring back consistency with the BBC News logo, is a bit of a step back rather than moving forward IMO - but at the same time, it looks smart and less fussy. For some reason, the way the Astons animate off screen remind me of the MTV video graphics in 1999.
The set is a bit too grey and I don't think the shade of red/crimson used complements well with it.
I'm sure the new look will grow more on me, but for now, it looks like that half a million quid this revamp was touted as costing seems a bit of a waste so far.
Now I can see why Mr Cameron is wearing a red tie - he blends in well with the new look set...
Much better than what they had. Its brilliant I love it - at last we have a BBC News TV Channel service we can be proud of again. Very pleased BBC - much, much better!
The studio looks really nice.
Love how the presenter said to David Cameron that it wouldn't be long before they messed it up!
