BTW, where is it situated compared to the World newsroom??

Just to reiterate what dragonhhjh said, the BBC Arabic Studio is located in the Egton Wing of Broadcasting House.BBC World News will be moving to the completed Broadcasting House facility in 2012. BBC World News is currently in Television Centre, hence why dragonhhjh said 5 miles away.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I read about this Broadcast House move in 2012 or something like that but I didn't know they are already using parts of it.

I assume when they move the whole BBC will adopt a totally new look, with new sets, music and openings, a new start and the end of David Lowe music and round table sets. Like when the flags era ended. They had this same style for a decade now.

Their current set already looks like it's on a budget. I'm joking, partly, the set is ok but the worst of all the current BBC news sets.

I hope they don't change things radically. The David Lowe pips are recognised far and wide and they seem to work pretty well (IMO).

What makes you think David won't compose a whole new sound for BBC News? He has done a sterling job for them for the last 10 years so i'm pretty sure he would have first dibs on any new audio packages should a change ever be in the pipeline.

I'd say 1999 was a sterling job, and so was 2007/2008 remixes. His compositions from 2003 onwards were very poor, dull and boring.

This is probably the nicest studio the BBC has. Why can we not have something like this on BBC1?

You are aware that half of that doesn't exist, right?

EDIT: I'm assuming, as the image came from the Lightwell site, that you do know.

Yes I did. The studio lights are a big give away, which remind me of the fake ones from the 1993-1999 BBC News set.

Superb. The best bit has to be the text message from Jeremy Bowen. Especially the "lol" at the end. Laughing

I'd agree with that, though I didn't think his 2007 mixes were particularly good either. For me, his best work has been 1999-2002 and 2008-present.

Interesting. The News Channel just broke down.

They showed a 6 minuite loop of the countdown with no numbers then the titles which showed the hold for 30 secs before crashing to a biwildered Sissons

Still having problems now. A still of the TOTH titles just appeared over the sport. Did you capture any of it? I only turned over when I saw your post.

Edit: Clock animated on to the screen at 18:01 and then animated off again.

I don't have capture facilities, sorry.
