Quite interesting to see "The Bottom Line" on the News Channel (the Evan Davies fronted Radio 4 business programme) from (I presume) a faux-radio studio. Good cross-promotion for Radio 4.

It is the ACTUAL studio in Broadcasting House and is videoed as digitally recorded for Radio Four. Some 'polishing' and minor time editing is the only thing necessary for the News Channel version to be completed ready for transmission.

How interesting. It's quite dramatic for a radio studio.

does anyone have caps of the NC's :30 sting with the RTS News Channel of the Year tag? or is the BBC so "modest" that they didn't even mention that?

No change with the sting at the moment, "Britain's most watched news channel" tag still remains.

I actually prefer 'Britain's most watched news channel'. Sounds more impressive.

BBC Arabic set is great, that's how a fake newsroom should look, it puts the News Channel to shame.

BTW, is the first floor newsroom fake or real, it looks real. Confused:

I think the ground floor is real. I can't recall BBC Arabic using chromo key or similar. Of course, the first floor, above the ground floor, is fake.

Does anyone know how many studios there will be in the new BH? How many will BBC News have? Will there be a seperate one for Nationals and News Channel, or will they share as they do now?

It's fake. Lightwell, who created the BBC News Channel backdrop and the BBC Arabic first floor extension, have this on their website:

"BBC Arabic needed digital set extensions for their live broadcasts – a project we worked on in partnership with Jago Design. We developed and built architectural detail for Jago’s outline design, including day and night-time versions with animated people and monitor footage"

This is what the real studio looks like, as you can see, no first floor!

Yes, the newsroom behind them is real. I watched a video of their launch on You Tube and they showed the newsroom.

BTW, where is it situated compared to the World newsroom??

Just to reiterate what dragonhhjh said, the BBC Arabic Studio is located in the Egton Wing of Broadcasting House.BBC World News will be moving to the completed Broadcasting House facility in 2012. BBC World News is currently in Television Centre, hence why dragonhhjh said 5 miles away.

It's not always like that of course! It's been lit for TV.
