Quite interesting to see "The Bottom Line" on the News Channel (the Evan Davies fronted Radio 4 business programme) from (I presume) a faux-radio studio. Good cross-promotion for Radio 4.

This is probably the nicest studio the BBC has. Why can we not have something like this on BBC1?

You are aware that half of that doesn't exist, right?

EDIT: I'm assuming, as the image came from the Lightwell site, that you do know.

I agree, and I think we'll probably get something similar to this in 2011 possibly (hopefully with a real newsroom behind the presenters).

You can tell that the BBC have been inspired by Al Jazeera English for the look of their studios and graphics.

Also, just to comment - nice to see Ben Gagon on the BBC News channel talking about the N Ireland incident. Didn't he present on BBC News 24?

I'm beginning to think that bar Al Jazeera and the roundness of News at Ten, BDA Jago seem to have a thing for putting people in boxes surrounded mainly by big screens.

Yes. There are pictures of the studios on their website: Jago Design Website

Pretty serious news coming out of Northern Ireland tonight. The NC have had correspondents Ben Geoghan and Andy Moore live in the studio, and also BBC Newsline's Julian O'Neill live in Belfast, and now a live phone interview with a local MLA.

Sky were first at confirming the number of fatalities and injuries, but the NC is rolling with reports and good analysis at the moment.

Its also still two-headed with Anita McVeigh and Stuart Flinders - usually its solo after 11pm on weekends?

EDIT: also breaking news straps on BBC1 directing viewers to the News Channel.

Yes thats BBC Arabic.
The above balcony is not real, but it looks very realistic.

The thing I love about BBC Arabic's studio is the desk, its very stylish and modern.

It is the ACTUAL studio in Broadcasting House and is videoed as digitally recorded for Radio Four. Some 'polishing' and minor time editing is the only thing necessary for the News Channel version to be completed ready for transmission.
