No, I love 'em!

The worst thing about the BBC's information astons (the story "headline" and additional information text) is that you can't put much information on them. On the last set, the text would be squashed almost to the point of illegibility. These new straps are better because they fill the entire width of the safe zone, but they still have to be filled with lots of abbreviations and txt spk.

In other words, bring back the 1999 look!*

I actually like the graphics. The strap's remind me of those used on AlJazeera English, they even seem to animate in the same way.

Grey is an interesting colour for the ticker, but they didn't want black, they couldn't use white, because it would clash with the straps, red would be too 'in your face' so really, with grey been used in the titles, I think it was the best option.

Also, I like the Gill San's. I did think it was old fashioned, but actually, on-air it looks good. The ticker is much more readable now.

Just something I noticed also, between stories on the ticker, there's only a white circle, instead of a BBC logo.

BBC News Revamp leaves Viewers Feeling SICK

Slightly over the top article there! What I think is most interesting though is the comparison to The BBC Weather map. At first it was hated, some tweaks were made in response to feedback and now everyone quite likes it, I think the same may be true of this relaunch.

I think that live bug would work with the new look.

I really don't like the new graphics - they are a huge step bin the wrong direction.

Which just confirms to me that, even though I like the pips, some of the news themes from the 80s and 90s were just more majestic and authoritative.

Gill Sans is not a real problem, yet they really need to rethink about how to arrange the graphics. Well, here's a little tweak of my previous mock of N24 and I think this may look a little bit better Embarassed

No. Amongst other things, re-envisioning the tower as a swirl doesn't change the fact that it's hugely obtrusive as a device, and was dropped for a very good reason.

I still hate the weather map.

Don't mind the white astons here.

Yuck. I much prefer the old look. Everything about it. That's all I can really be bothered to say. If it was good, I would be much more inspired to write more.

I think the bottom thirds are far better than they were before.

I especially like the animation on them when there is breaking news, very effective indeed.

So, E24 remains. In fact, didn't the weekday ones used to be called Entertainment 24?

The presenter sitting miles away from her guest, both on high stools, looks highly dodgy!
