I'm sorry to say that TBH the news channel looks far better in TC7 that N6 it's much spacier which means that to the eye it looks a lot better. I never understood why the BBC insist on shoving it's domestic news service in a studio no larger than a broom cupboard. Especially when the Beeb can fork out on one-off sets for things that are bigger.

Looks far better in TC7! Shocked Have you seen how dull the lighting comes across and washed out that Newsroom backdrop looks on those screens? Even the 6 looks rubbish in TC7 (i think). N6 is definately by far the better studio for the news channel. TC7 would be accpetable if it had better lighting but i always think it looks a bit dull in there.

But the lighting is much better in TC7 than N6! The lighting grid is higher for a start - I imagine you're just not used to it.

As I said TC7 is where the News Channel should be based, IF its not in a real newsroom.

Aha but the insiders at the BBC have said repeatedly the quality of lighting etc is lower in a newsroom setting such as N8 as its not a proper studio space, but a converted office.

You can't have it both ways Worzel.

I understand what you are saying, it does have a much better lighting grid in there, but most noticeably on the 6 it comes across a bit dull and the 'newsroom' backdrop doesn't look very sharp compared to N6's

Flicking through the newschannels, I find Sky News talking about the Glasgow terror trials and switching over to BBC News they have breaking news of David Tennant pulling out of Hamlet
Is such a story really so important that we have to have the breaking news treatment!

Maybe they've switched agenda's Wink Perhaps we may get snazzy graphics and a fancy studio on BBC News next week and Sky News will ditch it's glam and go formal Wink

Cool
Anyone else see the repeat of Sundays nights sports report shown at 1.30 am this morning. Martine was nearly apologetic about this mistake when they realised what was wrong with it about five minutes in.

Confused

I've noticed during the past couple of days that the Ticker has started to get the Juddering Hippy Shakes again, do they not purge the temp files on a regular basis then? Does someone from VizRT have to come and do it.... Noggin?

Would you believe it they appear to have done something to the lighting in TC7 for the Six. The red strip at the top is certainly a lot more red than it was a few days ago.

No, not in there, the news channel doesn't need to be as polished IMO as the other programmes do - for News 24, N6 is fine.

I would have put News Channel in N8, and World News in N6, as its a 24 hour non stop news channel, it worked well for five and a bit years they were in there.

Could this be simply that the desk is further away from the wall in TC7, and so there are depth of field effects that mean the backdrop is a little out of focus?

For the benefit of people, such as myself, who are asleep at this point, what was the problem?

Seeing that post was made on a Tuesday and referred to a Sunday night sports report being shown, I'd imagine they played out the wrong sports news?
