Just a minor presentation point, aside from the overnights has BBC News channel ever used a live feed that was clearly being used by BBC World News a short time ago whereby the 'Local Time' Live bug remains on screen. I can't recall ever seeing it lately. I assume BBC World News still use it.
EDIT My own question answered as BBC News channel carries BBC World News for the vote on the bail out. Impressive stuff from the Beeb, Jon Sopel anchoring from outside the House, and some other reporter (name escapes) on the floor on Wall Street (camera up on a balcony, fun time keeping line of sight) and Kim Catass in the BBC's White house back drop box. Seem to be on top of the coverage.

I thought he coped rather well under the circumstances
It struck me that he didn't cope well - kept introducing the same report, didn't talk about what was on screen, etc. I still think Nick's a great bulletin presenter but isn't quite as adept at rolling news (though he is better than some for sure).

Complete and utter metldown at 5pm with Nicholas Owen - no reports available - ad libbing was the name of the game to say the least!

I can't stand him. He's far too fluffy. To paraphrase the Prime Minister: we need a serious man for serious times.

It does look more spacious, now that they've removed the podium the desk was on before.
Here's an article by the executive producer of WNA, in which he talks about the success of the programme throughout its first year (a time-lapse video of the set being changed, is also included).

Not sure what's going on with the Barco screens, one half is showing the night backdrop whilst the other half is showing the daytime version!
