I've always had the impression she's arrogant but she's a good presenter.

Nothing could be further from the truth! Great sense of humour and great to work with. (Also very good at her job - which probably explains the previous sentence. I can forgive her for forgetting the golden rule "every mic could be live" - but everyone is human, and working in continuous news you have to have a laugh, otherwise you'd go mad)

And she's not the only BBC News presenter to have talked about "fake tits" whilst not realising the mic was on, as I'm sure Peter Sissons remembers well. Wink

Currently watching the 6.30-7 slot on BBC News and it seems they've dispensed with a news reader for most of it. E24 handed straight to Business at the desk, who handed over to Sportsday at the wall, who I guess will go straight to weather.

Oh dear, BBC NC missed Boris Johnson's live statement on Ian Blair's resignation. We had pictures but no sound. Sky News managed to get it.

Hahaha! Did anyone record that unexperienced interviewee getting up to shake the Nick's hand and walking off set at the end of their interview?! It clearly threw Nick off because they couldn't cut to the long shot of the studio with business in the background as the interviewee was in the way! He ended up saying something about how it "sometimes happens" and Marie-Ann or whatever her name is said that she'd be staying put!

That was quite comical, freddy Laughing The presenter (I think it was Louise Minchin; could have been Emily Maitliss) was begging us to "stay with BBC News" and that they were working on getting the sound. Ironically, Boris's statement was pretty short and then ended up missing the whole thing. IIRC, this isn't the first time the BBC have missed a statement or news conference.

Sky missed the statement by the relatives of Jean Charles de Menezes.
