Normally, BBC get a light-hearted headline in with the main news headlines, or an update from E24 during the headlines. For instance, the headlines at the top of this hour was the presidential race, the mansion arson attack, Karadzic. And then a coming up bed with the liquidation of the Zoom airline, the drop in the divorce rate and the car which ran through a supermarket.

I do wish BBC News would learn the difference between news and advertising. The announcement of this year's Strictly Come Dancing contestents is not news, and has no place in the headlines.

It wasn't too much of an advert really, it was all couched up as a BBC v ITV viewer rating issue, They just aout got away with it as far as I'm concerned.

Minor news, but e24 has altered it's titles, so now they have a white background, with the swirling rings, to fit in with the BBC News branding. Only 5 months late....

Am I the only one that thinks the programme looks like its put together by a bunch of teenagers? The editing is poor, and as for the graphics, it looks like an explosion in After Effects.

And some of the titles on the straps are so childish, it drives me mad. It's like I'm watching newsround.

Hmm... For some reason I'm getting old style (2007-2008) BBC News idents at the start of News Channel iPlayer programmes

Ooops - one in the 'News 24' swearbox for Chris Lowe there.
Understandable though - I should imagine "here on News 24" probably still rolls of the tongue easier than "here on the BBC News Channel".
