Good God. They've made a right pig's ear of it 
The last few seconds of the countdown are terrible. Gill Sans was a big mistake. Widescreen viewers are left with a huge gap on the left of screen. The fake video screen is boring, it's just got a white border and that's all there is to it. The 'Breaking News' isn't exciting enough. The text in the ticker looks too bold and that most certainly ought to be Swiss even if nothing else is.
The only things I like so far are the titles, idents and headlines. Otherwise - dire. Just dire.

I think that was the look before last with the Tower. IIRC it was just the little block below the tower which would change to yellow. I don't think the ticker changed colour.

I think the studio would look better if the background were not blurred. I'm not liking the blur.
