Does anyone remember the thread "Dajit"? Worzel, and his apparently belief that his posts are responsible for changes on air remind me of it.

I didn't know he was fluent in Spanish, but I realised when he translated a Spanish news report and started talking to a guest in spanish.

No matter how annoying it is that Tim works like a donkey and he's on screen more than the countdown- He is superb at handling Breaking News.

So do you think the News Channel will continue with the Madrid Plane Crash Breaking News, or will it take the News at Six from TC7 as normal... we'll have to wait and see I suppose.

They've had their first TOTH, in hours for the 5 O'Clock, with Tim staying on

Sounds as though Tim Wilcox is the best man to cover the Madrid Plane Crash story, considering his knowledge of Spain and the Spanish language, as mentioned before. Here's an excerpt from his Newswatch profile :

Quote:
He read Spanish at Durham University and is a passionate Hispanophile who has travelled widely in Spain and South America. His other great love is music. He was principal trumpet in the British National Youth Orchestra, and also plays the double bass and piano.

Indeed, he was translating some stories of the spanish wires live on air, which takes a great deal of skill!

That was good then at the 3:30am break instead of showing the whenever you need to know promo they cut to Al Yates who was sat there looking at his laptop with his glasses on for most of the duration of the promo.he didnt look at the camera we were seeing him on just continued to look to his right clearly aware he was been watched. Ive never seen this happen before on bbc news overnight.

I think they were having a few video problems in general around that time, as Al had to ad lib for a few minutes due to problems with the playout of Our World.

Our World started at around 0338, and didn't have enough time to be broadcast fully; before it had finished, the programme was cross-faded into the last ten seconds of the 0359 countdown.

A bit of fun, or just plain silly?! I'm sure there'll be the odd few that would like this to stay on screen for the next four years.

just a bit of fun - marking the official start to the countdown to London 20212. I liked it - cool idea.
