The BBC is investigating after several people gained unauthorised access to one of its studios during a live broadcast at Broadcasting House.
A group of five entered the studio at the building in central London at around 19:30 GMT on Friday.
The BBC News Channel was using the studio at the time, but the intruders were not seen on air.
It is understood the intruders left of their own accord. A BBC spokeswoman said no one was hurt.
The spokeswoman said: "We take security very seriously and are urgently investigating how several individuals were able to gain access to a studio.
"No one was hurt and there was no interruption to broadcasts.
"We have already taken further security measures and will take any other necessary steps."

I'm a bit surprised to hear that more U.K. universities don't have DTL studios. Almost every major university in the US it seems like has the ability to go live - even if they don't have a media program. I assume it has to do with the fact that cable news is a different beast between the US and the UK.
I believe most universities here are in the viewpoint that by allowing your professors and researchers appear on air is that it brings in great promotion. Additionally when you have a facility on site your staff can just show up for a few minutes before their hit and there's no need for them to miss the work day.
Some universities use their satellite uplink facilities which are operated in conjunction with studios while others use the VideoLink ReadyCam.
Very nice DTL interview studio Lancaster Uni have, on BBC NC now, it looks to be HD, anybody know anything about it ? Quite normal for corporate HQs etc, but this is the first I've seen from the academic world ?
