Well done to the BBC News channel for winning news channel of the year at the RTS Awards.
However, I seem to remember in years gone by that when the BBC don't win the award, the awards are dubbed as gimmicks and industry back slapping by some working on the channel. Will be interesting to see if they make a big thing of it when they win.

Well this is interesting-There's no Outside Source anywhere on the schedule for W/C 11th March (according to Digiguide) on the NC-just generic BBC News listings.
However there is World News America at 9:30 , i'm guessing for both that week and the following week as well. (as America changes their clocks on Sunday 12th whilst we don't change ours til the 26th March).

Yep, the clock change on the 12th March for North America means timing changes for any and all international news operations broadcasting out of the US. Changes will of course also affect CNN International as well.

I didn't see this posted else where but apparently at 1930 UK time a group of five people intruded into a BBC News studio that was currently on air. The studio was live on the News Channel but they weren't seen on camera. The group of five people left on their own accord.

The NC just fell briefly off air at the end of the midnight hour - overnight obviously the back half-hours show prerecorded shows, and in this case an edition of Inside Out finished, sticking on the endboard for a very very long time. The ticker continued on top of it as usual for the first ten seconds or so, but then wiped off leaving just a BBC Production South endslate for a little while! We then got a brief glimpse of the technical difficulties slide, before going into the prerecorded weather. Due to the delay in cutting away from the Inside Out programme the weather was then longer than the gap to the TOTH, meaning it was faded out (fairly smoothly) before it finished. We then got the standard news titles and went straight in with the top story, without a headline sequence, which seemed a bit strange.
