I agree and I think Katty Kay is too - I'd put her down as an outside bet to replace Jon Snow actually, especially as she has a long working history with Matt Frei.

From what Matt Frei is a friend of hers and he got her into journalism. They both seem like they have good chemistry. However I don't think she'd be leaving D.C. anytime soon as I think she has kids still in school and her husbands works as a communications director for a think tank.

I think the conversation from 100 Days could be used during Newsday. Newsday could do with the more interactive conversation.

OS is live on the NC to cover Donald Trump's speech in Philidelphia I believe.

News channel taking a generic World news bulletin waiting for a Theresa May/Trump press conference.

Part of that press conference has been simulcasted on BBC News at Six for about five minutes before it went to the top story reminder.

Coverage of the press conference will return on the BBC News at Six later.

100 Days would have been really worth having tonight, coming off the back of the press conference between Trump and May. As it is the 7pm hour on the NC (and presumably World) is still coming from Washington, but branded as a standard bulletin.

Interesting on 100 Days, they've let BBC Four go but are continuing to simulcast with World for the Article 50 vote in the Commons, rather than go to the break and do their extra NC bit before the NC weather.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but as far as I know, every time a US President is sworn in, the BBC News Countdown updates its montage.

As far as I can tell, and do correct me if I'm wrong, the Obama pictures with Jon Sopel have disappeared and Trump is mysteriously absent. Hmmmm.

And as I mentioned earlier the image in World News America just shows the White House.

Surely it's only happened once since they were introduced?

I'm sure I've seen him on one of them over the last couple of days

Maybe once the BBC have conducted a face to face interview with President Trump? There's no law to say they have to display a image of the President of US on the BBC Countdown! Things don't have to be replaced like for like- it's merely a countdown showing some of the things BBC news reflect on
