Isn't World News America only a half hour programme these days? Thus the 9:30 programme will be the whole programme.

Indeed. According to the EPG for BBC World News on Zattoo Switzerland, 2200 GMT is Business Live (so no break this week), then Asia Business Report and Sport Today, then back to normal at 2300 with Newsday.

Outside Source on at 8 this week as is usually the case when U.K. and US clocks are out of sync. Normal BBC News bulletin at 9 and World News America at 9:30, presumably due to the election.

World News America is also on next Monday on the NC Instead of the Ten so this is definitely Election related rather than Clock related (since America don't put their clocks back til this Sunday.)

I don't think that's quite right. There's a whole hour of World News America albeit split into two separate 30 minute blocks (each with a full opening sequence etc.) presumably for the convenience of PBS stations.

That is how it is shown on the website schedule too, with a further repeat of a half hour block at 6.30 ET.

WNA is scheduled at 21:00 GMT for an hour on World. Next Monday it moves to 22:00 GMT.

Both half hours of WNA are live at 1700 ET - the interviews in the back half hour may be taped. The back half is then repeated at 1830 ET going head to head with the network newscasts. I believe PBS affiliates can air the back half hour within two hours of the original newscast.

Quite a few errors after the top of the hour there.
After waiting for a number of seconds to switch to Lucy Hockings in Washington last nights WNT headlines appeared on screen followed by captions for Laura Treveyan and Jon Sopel.

NC now sharing Washington with BBC World, with Karin Giannone handling the London end for World (Impact Studio B).

Newsnight repeat cancelled tonight as there is a second edition of The Papers at 11:30-I wouldn't be surprised if this happened on Wednesday too.

Why is the sound quality from the US WNA studio and White House balcony shot so bad? It sounds like all the treble has been cut off the mics and sounds extremely flat (as if someone's talking in a tunnel).

Don't remember it sounding this bad on WNA.

Which WNA studio? There was a special edition from the election studio in Times Square, New York. That might explain the sound.

Rather extraordinary that it took until 12:26 today for the BBC News Channel to cover the awful tram crash at Croydon. Somewhat incredible that it got no coverage in earlier hours when BBC World News broke away for the weather/break.

While the events of the night in the USA were unbelievable in their own right, I'd have to question the editorial judgement of not covering the tram crash, given the loss of life and large numbers injured until this point.
