Shocking picture quality on Newswatch tonight - looks like a web stream being put to air.

Looks alright skipping around on iPlayer. Any particular bit, or all of it?

Apparently it's for the scheduled practice of the Queen's death.

The queen's practicing her death, she has to make sure she gets it right.

All this talk of her majesty's passing, reminded me of this moment (from 0:13 to 0:18 in this video)...

There is a set procedure for obituary broadcasts and reporting, they rehearse from time to time.

It's to make sure they don't have the kind of issues one radio station had when Diana died, where the obit procedure required the playing of the national anthem. The copy provided was on cart, and there was no longer the means to play it in the studio, and the obit music tape turned out to contain jingles with the station's old name http://ruddmakesense.blogspot.co.uk/2010/08/death-of-princess.html?m=1

After the Peter Sissons tie gate incident and the column inches that attracted I'm sure they are keen to avoid giving anybody ammunition at the next obit.

I didn't know where to post this article but...........

Because of cutbacks at the BBC; The Guardian has reported that star presenters of BBC News would no longer be able to present the News on a OB from locations from where the heart of major stories are unfolding.

All news presenting for major news will be done in NBH instead.

https://www.theguardian.com/media/2016/oct/15/bbc-cuts-news-anchors-no-longer-sent-cover-stories

These cutbacks are to expected to impact right away when the US Presidential Election vote happens in November.
