Following the end of the national bulletin on BBC One today, the NC had some issues with their graphics.

The logo stayed on the screen too long after the national broadcast closing sequence, then the ticker, clock and location strap seemed to come and go at random for a while.

I'm assuming some of the graphics being all over the place (position wise) on that video is YouTube's image stabilisation facility attempting to correct for camera moves?

Oh yes, what have they done? Shocked

EDIT: I've undone whatever tinkering they did, so it should be OK in a few minutes.

I did wonder what they meant when they said "Your video looks shaky".

And why change the spelling of "World Trade Center," a proper noun, to "Centre"? That's like an American media outlet referring to the British "Labor" party -- it just looks out of place.

Automatic spelling correction I'd guess. Besides, as it's a place name, many spellings get altered when changing language.

It may even be part of the BBC's style guide to do so, in the same vein as NATO being OTAN in French.

Not sure about a report about The Archers featuring on the main news tonight. Seemed a bit like self promotion disguised as news. Most Lizo Mizumba reports are like that.

I'm sure he's single-handedly responsible for most of JK Rowlings fortune.

I noticed the package earlier, Lizo was infamous in the noughties for his puff pieces about Harry Potter on Newsround.

It's always frustrating when the news is used to promote other BBC shows, Strictly and The Archers isn't news in the mainstream sense.

The BBC seem to do it more often than ITV too - or at least it's much more noticeable when they do.

In the BBC's defence though this was a landmark episode in The Archers with a storyline which has had impact beyond the showand I'm guessing from Andrew's comments the report aired after it aired rather than before. The storyline has also been widely reported on by Media Guardian and has got quite widespread coverage today.

There was something a bit weird about Sunday's late news. They headlined a story about American footballers protesting the US national anthem - but there wasn't a report - just an out of vision read. Which is weird. Did a vt not make its slot or something?

Could have something to do with rights. Highlights cannot be shown until the games are over. Not sure about international rights.
