Can anybody explain why I just tuned into BBC News to watch 8 minutes of the dressage – it seems a poor decision to show live coverage on the News Channel, there must be other news to talk about while live coverage airs elsewhere...
This morning's 9am bulletin came from the Breakfast/NWT studio, and they accidentally played out the closing theme for NWT at the end instead of the usual BBC News theme.
There isn't a suitable thread for BBC News on BBC One, it doesn't fit properly in either.
Indeed, I wasn't sure which thread to stick it in. I didn't realise there was a discussion already going on in the 'Presenter/Rota' thread. It's not somewhere I ever go . . .

My two cents from the 'Presenters/Rotas' thread...
I wish they'd remove the foreground "swooshes" from the CGI newsroom backdrops used on Nationals from Salford, as they ceased to be "on-brand" quite some time ago.
Looks like the three "windows" in that closing wideshot were showing literally the same one-screen's-worth of backdrop, three times over. Given that Nationals from Salford would usually only ever come from the small "NWT breakfast bulletins" studio, there clearly isn't a wider version of that particular backdrop in existence.
The angle of that closing wideshot (i.e. avoiding letting the "side window" into shot) was clearly chosen so as to avoid the nonsensical sight of the perpendicular part of the "view" being somehow the same layout/angle as what was across the back wall.
The 10pm News tonight ending as the last bulletin from London 2012 did with a montage from the Olympics using special music - not as strong as 2012's though I'd say, audio wasn't mixed as well.
It appears that there is a new design of 'home page' available on the DR Stream, so I'm getting that now. Hopefully that should solve the problem.

They're rolled out in batches. Not everybody gets the update straight away. On R014, which I've had for the last week and a half (I was early this time, usually I have to wait best part of three months), there is only one channel 503 on my DRX890. Did you favourite one of the olympic streams by any chance?
