Victoria Derbyshire news summary at the top and bottom of each hour always comes from the balcony position with the 11-1 presenter. This is from the newsroom instead of Studio E because the studio isn't staffed until 11am. So I think its just the case of less staff is needed to do the update from the newsroom instead of studio.
I believe it isn't done from Studio B with VD because I don't think they want news summaries to be confused with the VD fluff.
Does the news summary for VictoriaLIVE always come from the weather balcony with the Newsroom Live presenter? Is there any particular reason for this? Is it that it allows them to leave it later, possibly better use if staff, for when they open up studio E?

What I'd like to know is how can the balcony be controlled by different galleries but why is the newsroom pan camera can only be controlled by Studio E.
The weather balcony can work into several of the studio galleries. Whereas studio e runs through its own gallery and would therefore require people to staff that to get it on air.

Probably it's treated like a flash cam. The Shotoku control systems likely can have multiple controllers like a Vinten Radamec system. Could it be that the cameras may not need adjustments for every hit that's done. Can the other galleries control the other DTL studios in NBH? Granite there's not much to pan and tilt but I imagine the height would need to be adjusted.

I don't know for sure, but I'd guess that it's because the balcony track is driven by the automation in Studio E. If you had multiple studios able to control the camera, how could you ever be sure the correct one is in control without a load of complicated monitoring and processes. I be surprised if the other studios couldn't get a feed from that camera if they actually needed to.
The weather balcony on the other hand is a couple of camera inputs. All you've got to do it patch them to the right place and sort out your talkback and autocue feeds and you're sorted, plus in it's weather format it's been designed to be self op-ed into any of the studios / externally so the facilities needed to be there.

As I understand it, it's not possible for the newsroom camera to be controlled by another gallery. If it is the case, they wouldn't have to prerecord the pan for the News at 5 titles (and News at 9, when that was on air). It's only controllable by the gallery for Studio E. I think it would make a great introduction to Outside Source, if it was possible.
The news updates in the morning start at 9:30 from the balcony. The first summary is from Studio B.

Yes, the "trundle cam" is tied to Studio E's automation and is essentially an additional camera available on their system. It's not controllable from any other gallery, though the output
could
I suppose be fed via an ISO feed to anywhere else. The newsroom DTL cameras are controllable from anywhere that has the appropriate control screen, but are usually adjusted by the Meet and Greet person.

The first news update is at 9am. The only real difference is at 9/10 Victoria reads the top story and the newsreader reads the rest, compared to 9.30/10.30 when the newsreader does the whole summary.

I saw the start of Victoria recently and she did the whole 9am summary.

She may well have done on that occasion, and sometimes she does if say they can't link to the balcony. But on a day to day basis, it's how I described above, for example yesterday's show:
