This has probably been alluded to before but the chyrons for Newswatch look similar to the new News chyrons that we've been getting glimpses of (other than the use of Reith on the latter).

Chyrons?

American term for lower thirds, named after the Chyron Corporation who made equipment which generated them.

Sorry if I missed this already (or if it's normal) but the regional news is at lunchtime today presumably due to Wimbledon.

A few years ago regional news on Saturday lunchtimes was axed, having been introduced a couple years earlier.

Well we're back to normal next Saturday (i.e the Saturday regional bulletin after the Early Evening Bulletin rather than Lunchtime)

Happened to catch a brief glimpse of last night’s late news and noticed the lighting seemed a bit ‘off’. Checked on iPlayer and there was none of the usual blue lighting for the late bulletins. Hopefully this isn’t a permanent change as it appeared too bright for a late bulletin IMO.

Studio E is just too red, I don’t understand how World News treat it’s viewers to every colour under the sun with its studio but licence fee funded BBC News channel is almost always red Sad

Would look odd lit up different colours especially seeing there are physical red elements in the newsroom and the set is kinda dark imo compared to World News. I personally think the pillars when lit blue look outta place. A more natural night time blue/moonlight colour would look better.

Bloody biased BBC, that's the problem.

Has Victoria Derbyshire gone back up to 90 minutes? Thought it was now 10-11?

Extended show today (finishes at 10:30 on BBC Two, but 11 on the news channel) as they're doing a special edition from location. Back to 10-11am from tomorrow.

Dear Victoria Derbyshire programme, a great piece of kit was invented some time ago that would easily benefit your programme today. Not sure if you’ve heard of them, they’re relatively cheap and works a treat....
