BBC News Channel Presentation - 21/03/16 onwards

The programme name strap and ticker appear as normal on WN. Perhaps there is some problem with routing Studio C output to NC, where they are unable to show the strap elements properly for the domestic channel.

Lip sync, lighting, camera positioning, and camera racking outside Buckingham Palace all a disgrace on tonight’s 10pm news.

Either that or we're all watching a totally version of the Ten to you!

Is the real reason they rebranded BBC World as BBC World News so that they could use the same DOG. If it was just BBC World there'd be a gap where the clock goes on BBC News!

Don't think so. In 2007 before the rebrand they just extended the length of the ticker.

I bet the ticker just continues on underneath the DOG that way they don’t have to deal with the exact pixel where the ticker ends would end in cases of simulcasting. I’ve seen it done before elsewhere in a similar fashion where it continues on but they DOG or other elements cover it up.
Tickers when they abruptly stop or start next to a graphical element look a bit odd in my opinion.

I hope the iPlayer and social media feeds/content will get a neater solution for applying the DOG, removing the Clock, and not including the ticker.

Surely there can be a "cleaner" feed for this purpose?

Take a look at the interview with Jon Sopel and Laura K about 10 mins in, you think that was acceptable quality ? To be fair the lip sync was fixed shortly afterwards

WBR has never been part of the NC daytime schedule and has not been shown at all on the NC for way over a year (with that only being the 05:30 edition in recent years although I believe it also had an airing in the late evening at one point) and does not exist during the afternoons Monday to Thursday in any case any more.

I know they’ve dropped Nationwide on regular editions before to make up time.
